SOLID WASTE
Residential Service:
There are 28 employees assigned to the Solid Waste department at the City of Enid. The duties of the Solid Waste department are to pickup, remove, and dispose of solid waste for the citizens of Enid. The automated polycart and manual pick-up is done in 4 areas of town based upon the collection day. There are over 18,000 customers on the residential routes. We have rear load and automated side load trucks. The manual trucks have a driver and 2 collectors to each truck. The automated trucks require only a driver and are currently being implemented; soon the entire collection of residential household trash will be fully automated. We have 2 boom claw trucks that pick up special orders such as furniture and other large debris that is too heavy or large for the residential trucks. We require a minimum of 1.5 yards, which equal to a full size pickup bed before the boom trucks can be sent out for special orders. There are 19 people assigned to the residential routes.
